The lanterns in the city never seemed to go out.
If the Teo did not know better by now she would have assumed them to be enchanted as her own was. Through trial and error she learned that many people were not as trusting of magic, even being surrounded by it now. From what she understood the world that they came from did not have such a thing. Teo wrinkled her nose at the mere thought of a world without magic; what a mundane life that must have been.
She was not here to judge them, however, as she honestly knew very little about the ones called human. For almost ten years she lingered on the outskirts of this settlement watching them, waiting for a day that she might blend in among the crowd. Of course in that time she had encounters with them, hunters who swore that saw a "Lady in White" wandering through the forests. Teo had no idea however what this meant or what significance it held to them in their world. From their reactions it may not have been a good thing as they fled the sight of her.
Like the apparition they believed her to be, she moved silently despite taking no efforts to do so. Through the open gates and into the city proper clad in nothing but a white robe that seemed to be much too big for the woman and tattered. The hood of her over sized robe hung about her face so that she was blocked from the view of the nearby people who wandered the streets. Most ignored her as if she was some sort of ghost which she found to be very odd. Her people, the celestials and even the air dragons always stopped to make conversation with one another. These humans all seemed too busy for another, scurrying about like ants.
A smile spread on her face in the shadow of her hood as she watched them buy several bright multi-colored things. Chubby little humans ran around at the skirt hems of the woman, she only assumed that this was what they meant when they used the word "baby". Even after all this time her grasp of their language was not entirely complete; often causing her to be at a loss for words or resort to using words they could never comprehend. Despite the majority of the population being apprehensive about the use of magic, it was definitely thriving in this city. She could feel it in the air like a heavy blanket, caressing the milky flesh of her cheeks.
"Pretty.." she said softly.
